Good riddance!

Oh my!!! It's been a LONG TIME since I've posted anything on my ol' site but today is a special day.

Here's a cross post I did on My Left Nutmeg regarding Joe LIEberman's retirement announcement

IMG_6901

Before Democrats, Independents, and former "Stick with Joe" supporters could get their chance to fire Joe LIEberman, Sarah Palin's favorite senator decided to yell "I QUIT" and exit stage right.

As someone who has expressed his opinion about our laughable senator online for the last six years, it was a pleasure to be on hand and witness this now irreverent pain in the ass call it quits.

For your viewing pleasure, here's the last video I'll ever do on this clown (hopefully).

I could go on and on about my feelings about LIEberman but what's the point? He'll only be a jerk to the residents of Connecticut until next November then he's history. In the end, those who opposed Joe in 2006 were vindicated while the Stick with Joe crowd watched as their man stood side by side John McCain and Sarah Palin.

In short, good riddance Joe! Now lets work on getting a REAL Democrat in that senate seat!

BTW: Remember, LIEberman's announcement would not have happened without the grassroot support Ned Lamont had during his 2006 campaign (that means YOU MLN community). I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the AMAZING work progressive bloggers (in state and out of state) did in driving LIEberman (and his campaign staff) nuts in '06 and I hope every one of them are celebrating today's announcement.

Although Ned didn't win in November 2006, in the end, we all won. Lamont's campaign and pushback against the Republcian war machine led the way to Democrats achieving majority status in Congress in 2006 and Barack Obama's Presidential win two years later. LIEberman's retirement is just the icing on the cake.
