Updates

Sorry for the lack of posts but I've been pretty busy lately.

I haven't updated this site in some time and since I just finished re-designing my other blog, I decided to spend a couple of days and fix some of the problems on this site.

Don't worry, I'll be back up to full speed soon...

Gov Rowland-Rell caught red-handed AGAIN

Oh, it was only a matter of time till something like this was brought to the surface for all to see. Seems like the the Jodi Rell/Lisa Moody connection was up to no good again.
State auditors and the attorney general Tuesday received a request to look into whether Gov. M. Jodi Rell's office improperly used state resources last year to obtain addresses for use by Rell's campaign in soliciting financial contributions by mail.

An investigation appeared imminent after Democratic State Chairwoman Nancy DiNardo faxed a letter to State Auditors Robert G. Jaekle and Kevin P. Johnson, asking that they "investigate the use of state employees' time and state resources for the sole purpose of raising campaign funds for Gov. Rell's political campaign."

DiNardo based Tuesday's letter on what she said were troubling disclosures in Sunday's Courant by columnist Kevin Rennie. Even though DiNardo released a copy of her letter to The Courant, Jaekle said he could not confirm that the auditors had received it because of restrictions in the state's "whistleblower's law," under which the auditors and attorney general investigate allegations of waste, fraud and abuse in state government.

[...]

Rennie wrote in his column Sunday that last August, a lawyer in Rell's office, Philip L. Dukes, asked the state's Commission on Culture and Tourism for the lists it maintains for mailing announcements to people in arts and tourism groups. After the agency sent Dukes the lists, Dukes turned them over to Rell's chief of staff, M. Lisa Moody, and not long after that, people on the lists received letters from the Rell campaign soliciting contributions up to $2,500, Rennie wrote.

[...]

Rell and Moody, Republicans, spent much of 2006 in a scandal over a Dec. 7, 2005, Rell fund-raising event at the Marco Polo Restaurant in East Hartford - a scandal that led to months of investigation as well as $500 fines for 16 top Rell-administration appointees who obeyed Moody's instructions to hand out fundraiser invitations to subordinates. Rell suspended Moody for two weeks, saying she insisted that her staff maintain high ethical standards.

You can thank Kevin Rennie for uncovering this nonsense. I'm sure this isn't the last time we'll hear Lisa "shake the money tree" Moody and Jodi Rowland-Rell accused of dirty tricks.

Lieberman (D/I-CT) accuses supporters of anti-escalation resolution of not supporting the troops

This is the so-called Democrat House Speaker James Amann supports.
Yesterday on the Senate floor, Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and John Warner (R-VA) had a testy exchange over their Iraq resolutions, during which Lieberman claimed that the difference between his pro-escalation resolution and Warner's anti-escalation resolution is that "ours is a statement of support to our troops."

Warner responded, "I forcefully argue that ours is in support of the troops, and there is no suggestion that one is less patriotic than the other." But Lieberman insisted, "One is not less patriotic than the other, but actions have consequences, as I said during my remarks. For the Senate to take this unprecedented action on a nonbinding resolution to disavow, disapprove a mission that our troops are being asked to carry out right now cannot help their morale."

Class act.

Is this the type of politician that Democrats such as Speaker Amann, Pat "I'll have another" Dillion, and Bill Finch should rally around? While we're at it, I'm still wondering if the head of State Central Nancy DiNardo will ever get around to answering Maura's quesiton regarding her attendance at Joe Lieberman's victory celebration in D.C.
Of course, it would also be inappropriate for the head of the State Democratic Party to attend the party celebrating the inauguration of a candidate who defeated the Democratic Party candidate for Senate. But I’ve also heard that Nancy DiNardo was celebrating Ned Lamont’s defeat along with other Lieberman supporters at Lieberman’s inaugural party in DC. If this is true, we just got suckered into another term of being “led” by someone who thinks it’s okay to celebrate the defeat of her own party’s candidate. Nice!
I guess she already gave her answer to the Courant.
As for his future place in the state party, Nancy DiNardo sounds like she’s keeping every door and window open [From the Courant]:
Reached by phone at the Democratic National Committee meeting in Washington, DiNardo said she and Lieberman have yet to discuss his place in the party.
"It has been awkward," DiNardo said of the three months since the election. "I think there have been bruised feelings on both sides."

Umm... how about slamming the door in his face? That's what I usually do with people who spit in my face and refuse to leave my house.

DiNardo apparently feels differently, and feels sorry for Joe's "brusied feelings."
Shame on any Democratic official that supported Lieberman after the primary (both publically and privately) and shame on any Democrat who's too afraid to take a stance against Lieberman's rhetoric.

Saturday night with Coltrane and the Duke

Classic.

DiNardo outed

Seems like State Central Nancy DiNardo is quite pissed down in DC over her being outed for being at Joe Lieberman's election victory celebration.
Nice!
Now, this wasn't new news since I heard that she as well as other Democrats such as my favorite State Senator Bill Finch made the trip to DC to kiss Joe's ring. It's just laughable when people like DiNardo, Finch, Jim "I'll crush you" Amann, and our favorite drinking buddy Pat Dillon, get all pissy when they're so-called loyality towards the Democratic Party is EXPOSED.

Lets take it a notch. Spazeboy asks the question, lets see if DiNardo repsonds.
Ms. DiNardo, what’s in it for you? There must be a reasonable explanation why you continue to support Joe Lieberman, despite your official capacity as chairwoman of the party whose candidates he actively campaigned against.
Same ol' Democratic leadership running the show in CT...nothing has changed.

ALways remember, change starts at the DTC level.

A Ken Krayeske history lesson

When you watch this video, remember one thing and Ken Krayeske (FREELANCE REPORTER AND FORMER CAMPAIGN MANAGER FOR GREEN PARTY CANDIDATE CLIFF THORNTON).

1. Krayeske's name was somehow placed on a secret list.

2. A flyer with his full description was distributed among the State and Hartford Police Department.

3. Krayekse was arrested, held on 75,000 BAIL, and was later released (AFTER THE GOVERNOR'S BALL WAS OVER) on a promise to appear in court.

4. The police report contradicts several witnesses who saw the arrest as well as Krayeske's time stamp ON HIS PHOTOGRAPHS.

5. I could go on and on and on...just watch the video and maybe you'll begin to get a better understanding about why Krayeske was singled out.

They can't talk about it

Only serious questions please.
Only in Boston.

BTW: The "suspicious" boxes were all over Boston for the LAST TWO WEEKS.

These guys were DOING A JOB. Wanna blame anyone, blame Turner Broadcasting for not giving Boston's finest the heads up.
